The Role Requires You To:

Teach data scientists, data engineers, and analysts about our data science and analytics platforms and tools using a teaching platform and courseware built by the team behind Alfa Xprienz itself. You will teach at customer sites, at conferences, virtually, and at Alfa Xprienz headquarters. This role requires both engineering and classroom management skills.

What you are responsible for

• Deliver instructor-led classroom training to end-user customers (developers, data scientists, analysts, architects) and partners on a regular schedule abroad.
• Own the engagements you deliver. We have logistics support, but ultimately it is up to you to ensure that you have what you need to deliver high value events and reach out when you need help.
• Be an ambassador for Alfa Xprienz.
• Bring feedback and your lessons from delivering in the field to the core curriculum team so we can integrate that back into what we are teaching.

What We Require:

• MS/PhD in Computer Science, Data science, Data Analytics, or a related field
• Experience teaching multi-day, in-person technical classes
• Experience using videoconferencing products (Zoom, GoToTraining, Webex)
• Ability to quickly learn, grasp, and explain advanced concepts
• Strong speaking skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to travel 50% of the time (once pandemic travel restrictions are lifted)
• Solid grasp of programming principles (object oriented and functional). At least medium level proficiency in one of: Java, Scala, Python, R
• Proficiency in SQL
• Experience working as or with one or more of the following personas: Data Architects, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Analysts
• Hands-on proficiency in Apache Spark, Redshift/Snowflake/Azure SQL DW, MapReduce
• Production experience in machine learning, data warehousing, building data pipelines, microservices and container orchestration, CI/CD
• Experience with cloud platforms and the ecosystem of big data tools
